UKRAINE: 1944 in 2022
A poetic video featuring real people displaced from Ukraine
I directed and produced a video about two ballet dancers from Ukraine who became refugees in Los Angeles. The goal of this video is to raise awareness about people being displaced and to raise funds for those who are suffering. This mission has become my focus and purpose since February 2022 as a Ukrainian immigrant and artist in America.
On February 1st 2022, Arno and Anastasiia, two dancers from the national ballet of Ukraine, left their home to go on tour in the United States. On February 24th 2022, Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine and left them with no home to return to. This video was filmed there to tell their story.
